Information for schools
Jacari works by taking referrals from our partner schools, for EAL pupils who could benefit from a bit of extra help with their schoolwork.
If you are a school who would be interested in partnering with Jacari, please email the coordinator on email@example.com or call 0117 3257913.
How to refer a pupil:
1. If you have an EAL pupil who you think would benefit from Jacari teaching, you must obtain parental consent before completing the online referral. You can find and download the parental consent form, and a letter explaining what Jacari is, using the quick links below. Once you have collected consent forms for your pupils you should scan them and email them to the Coordinator, or post them to us.
2. Once you have consent, you can fill in the online referral form by clicking the button above. Please include the EAL band (A, B, C, D or E) of each pupil. Click here for more information about EAL bands.
If you cannot access the online form you will find a PDF version in the button links - please complete this and scan it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. When your online form is submitted, the pupil is added to our waiting list. We usually have more pupils than volunteers, so we appreciate your patience - it may take time to find a suitable volunteer tutor. When your pupil is matched with a tutor, the referring teacher or the Jacari school contact (EAL lead) will receive an email informing them about this. The tutor may be in touch with you, to ask for updated ideas on what the pupil needs help with.
