JACARI FUNDING FAQs
What does Jacari cost? It costs around £150,000 a year to run Jacari (as of August 2023). All donations and funds contributed to Jacari will enable 240 young people in Oxford and Bristol to receive fun, free tutoring sessions from our Jacari volunteers.

Where does the money come from? Jacari relies on a range of funding sources including grants from trusts and foundations; funds from student fundraising initiatives; the support of social enterprises such as Oxford Scholastica Academy and The Charity Football League and, of course, the generosity of our Jacari community and the public.

Where does the money go? Jacari’s costs include DBS checks for all our volunteers, volunteer travel expenses, resources for our teaching resources libraries, kids’ events, insurance, and publicity to recruit more volunteers. Our major costs include rent for office spaces as well as the salaries of our Coordinators and other staff members. For a complete breakdown of our most recent expenditures, please consult our full accounts on the Charity Commission website.
