Armored Penguin:  Simple site with lots of crosswords, word puzzles and word matches to improve your students’ vocabulary skills. You can use this site to create your own puzzles

 

Audible: Books available in 6 different languages including, French, German, Italian, Manderin, Portuguese and Dutch

 

Adele's ESL Corner: Useful resources to improve your students grammar, listening, vocabulary and reading

 

Agenda Web: For all levels, this web-page includes grammar, vocabulary, verb, comprehension, phonetics and reading exercises; there are also audible fairytales, nursery-rhymes and cartoons, and an abundance of worksheets

 

BBC Education Bitesize Useful materials for all ages and subjects (although not EAL specific)

 

EAL Nexus: Teaching resources for both Primary and Secondary aged pupils on a range of topics including science, history, and maths; also has advice pages for parents
 

EALhub:  A week-free subscription for access to resources for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 pupils

 

IXL Math:  IXL assists pupils in mastering essential skills at their own pace through fun and interactive questions, built in support and motivating awards

 

ESL Flashcards: Flashcards and pictures on lots of different vocabulary topics

 

EAL Highland: Brilliant website with loads of resources specifically for EAL pupils (e.g., words list’s in various languages for Maths, Geography, Science, etc.)

For Older Learners

 

Audio Books: They can listen to a story and then write a summary/draw the story

 

BBC Bitesize: Resources covering all GCSE subjects (not EAL specific but useful anyway and good for your own revision!)

 

ESOL Nexus: Resources for adult learners on grammar and life in the UK, but may be useful for older secondary-aged pupils

English Page: More advanced exercises on vocabulary and grammar; especially good for gap-fill exercises on different verb tenses
