Join the Jacari student committee for 2023-24! Be part of the amazing team that organises events, recruits volunteers, raises funds, and lots more.
Our student committee is key to building a community of volunteers passionate about tackling educational inequality in Oxford and beyond.
What will the time commitment be?
Joining the student committee will not take up a lot of your time. You will attend a committee meeting every fortnight and work with a team on certain events and activities. Commitment will vary throughout the year.
What is Jacari?
Jacari was established by Oxford students in 1956 as a student society and we continue to have a strong presence at the university. Our purpose is to provide additional support for those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). Learn more about our history here.
What experience will I need?
You won't need to have a lot of experience. We're looking for students who are motivated and enthusiastic to get involved and learn new skills. We hope that we'll be able to offer an opportunity to develop skills.
How do I join the committee?
Please complete the form at the top of this page by 14th May.
We’ll chat to all those who have expressed interest in the week commencing 15th May.

All applicants must be students at the University of Oxford or Oxford Brookes University.

We encourage those who’ve volunteered with us to apply, but it’s fine if you’re new to Jacari too!
We plan to run committee training in June!
