We are pleased to welcome Torie Stubbs to the Jacari team as our new Senior Coordinator for our Oxford branch. Torie will be running our Oxford tuition programme and extra-curricular activities, supporting over 100 refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant children in Oxford, alongside our Assistant Coordinator, Ben. She will support a caseload of volunteers and liaise with our partner schools in Oxford as well as assisting with organising volunteer recruitment and training events. She will also help Ben to organise four fun kids' events a year for our pupils, their families and our volunteers.
Torie will also be overseeing Jacari's fundraising and communications activities, supporting our Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Officer, Natasha. Alongside this she will be responsible for Jacari's finances and budget. She will also be managing Jacari's corporate and social enterprise partnerships in Oxford and representing Jacari in Oxford education and charity groups and networks.
"Hello, my name is Torie and I am the new Oxford Senior Coordinator! Before Jacari, I have worked with various charities that support unaccompanied asylum seekers, adult refugees/asylum seekers, vulnerably housed people, ex-offenders and people recovering from addictions. I have helped them accessing and succeeding in education and work. I am passionate about this area of support as it empowers and enables people to access their full potential. I am born and raised by the sea on the south coast of England - being outside is my happy place. I enjoy painting, cycling, reading and eating!"
