At the end of November, the Jacari Bristol team took a group of pupils along to the Coexist Community Kitchen for a fun cookery workshop.
The Coexist Community Kitchen is a non-profit cookery school in Easton, Bristol whose main aim is to use food as a vehicle to work with people who experience social marginalisation. They run a range of cookery classes and we're excited to be partnering with them to organise kids' cooking classes for young refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants who use English as an additional language.
For this workshop, our pupils were joined by Jacari volunteers and coordinators for a fun and engaging session of baking. The group prepared an excellent selection of Christmas biscuits to take home to friends and family. There was much laughter and many smiles from beginning to end!
The event was a roaring success - plans are underway for additional cookery workshops at the Coexist Community Kitchen in 2023.
