It’s the time of year for charity runs! As ever, Jacari volunteers and friends of Jacari pulled on their running shoes to support our work in both Bristol and Oxford.
In Bristol, conditions were colder for the annual Great Bristol Run. Nevertheless, we had a strong showing of brilliant runners, including several sixth form peer tutors from the Jacari Bristol Peer Tutoring programme, as well as teachers from a Jacari partner school. It was great to see this cross-section of the Jacari family come together to support our work.
The Blenheim 7K Fun Run near Oxford provided a scenic route around the beautiful Blenheim Palace grounds, and all our runners successfully completed the hilly course through the trees and around the lake. This year in Oxford, we’ve been delighted to partner with Oxford STAR (Student Action for Refugees), and we loved sharing the run with several STAR representatives.
As ever, Jacari is hugely thankful for all our runners who took part and raised over £2,800 to support our ongoing work. Our runners looked especially stylish in their Jacari’s 70th anniversary t-shirts, and we are excited to bring the wonderful Jacari community together for our big celebration coming up in June!
If you’d like to run for Jacari, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact Eleanor Tomlinson on fundraising@jacari.org if you’d like to find out more and get involved!
