Here at Jacari, we’re pleased to be offering extra support to a group of ten recently arrived Afghan refugees who are currently enrolled at a local Bristol primary school. Five of our fantastic volunteers have been going to the school and running fun group sessions for the children each week since mid-November. Playing games and introducing them to some basic survival English has helped the children settle into their new school.
We were also delighted to have been able to organise a circus show for the children and their classmates at the end of last term, with the brilliant Flying Seagull Project. As one of our volunteers said:
“The circus was so fun. They had such a good time. It was a lovely thing to do for them!!”
