To celebrate our first year of peer tutoring, we took a group of pupils from Montpelier High School in Bristol to play crazy golf at Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf. Since October, nineteen A-level students at the school have been peer tutoring younger pupils who are mostly recently arrived refugees who had little or no English when they came to Bristol. We've trained and supported the peer tutors, helping them to come up with fun activities to teach survival English and help the pupils settle in at school and in Bristol.
Two of the pupils have written about their crazy golf trip so we thought you'd like to hear all about it from them. These are pupils who have only recently learnt English so their writing is amazing!
